Information We Receive
Information may arrive in three ways:
- Search terms: words entered in an outside search box pass to the provider that powers the tool.
- Messages: information voluntarily sent through a contact method may be retained so we can respond.
- Technical details: browsers and servers may provide an IP address, device and browser type, visited pages, referral source, and timestamps.
Cookies and Similar Tools
Cookies and related browser storage may keep preferences, measure visits, support advertising, and help search partners operate their services. A browser can block or remove cookies, though doing so may limit some functions. Outside providers apply their own cookie and privacy rules.
How Data Is Used
Collected information may be used to operate and secure the site, answer messages, understand traffic, improve content, detect abuse, and support advertising or partner search functions. We do not claim that technical or contact data becomes an Adair County government record.
Links to Other Services
Links lead to government offices, courts, news publishers, and other independent services. Their privacy practices, terms, and security are outside our control. Review the receiving site's policy before providing personal information.
When Data May Be Shared
Information may be supplied to service providers that perform a function for the site. Those recipients can include:
- search partners that process a submitted query;
- analytics providers that measure use;
- advertising networks that deliver or assess ads; and
- law enforcement or another government body when disclosure is required by a valid legal order.
Security Is Best Effort
Reasonable safeguards are used to protect information, but no internet-connected system is completely secure. We cannot promise that transmission, storage, or access will always be error-free or breach-proof.
Visitors Under Eighteen
The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. A parent or guardian who believes a minor submitted information may use the Contact Us page to request deletion.
Your Privacy Choices
Subject to applicable law and the limits of what we hold, a user may ask to:
- receive a copy of personal data held about them;
- correct inaccurate submitted information;
- delete information where a right to deletion applies; or
- opt out of processing where an applicable right permits it.
A request may require reasonable identity verification. This policy does not control records held by the Adair County Sheriff, Iowa courts, corrections agencies, or another outside source.
